In December 2006 the Tokushukai Group's first overseas hospital, Tokushukai Sofia Hospital (1,016 beds) opened in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. Approximately, 1,100 VIPs consisting of ambassadors and highly placed government officials from countries that have intensified medical exchanges attended the inauguration ceremony.
The Tokushukai Gymnastics Club (Tokushukai Medical Corporation) was established in 1998. Two members of the club, Isao Yoneda and Hisashi Mizutori, took part in the 2004 Athens Olympics.
The Tokushukai Group implemented large-scale disaster rescue activities during the Great Hanshin Earthquake in January 1995. In the wake of this opportunity, the group organized the TDMAT (Tokushukai Disaster Medical Aid Team). After this, the Team has been active in Japan and in countries abroad.
