In December 2006 the Tokushukai Group's first overseas hospital, Tokushukai Sofia Hospital (1,016 beds) opened in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. Approximately, 1,100 VIPs consisting of ambassadors and highly placed government officials from countries that have intensified medical exchanges attended the inauguration ceremony. They were struck by the ardent hope: "Next time, it will be in our country. " This had a profound impact on all foreign countries. For Bulgaria, this is the first new general hospital that has been built in 30 years. Even in the country, the hospital has a distinguished membership of famous names, and its environment is at the optimum level. It puts into practice the Tokushukai motto, and as a unique medical institution, it is pledged to offer state-of-the-art medical care services not only in Bulgaria but also in the European medical field as a whole.
Moreover, 24 countries throughout the world, including Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, exchanged Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) on the construction of hospitals. The African country Gabon deserves special mention as it conducted the Ground Purifying Ceremony for a new hospital in 2005. The plans of all other countries are currently in the process of becoming reality.
